I have a 97 Explorer E.B and lately I have had these click and clack noises coming from under the dashboard/glove box area, at first, I thought it was the antenna motor and learned it is housed under the wheel well. I am now thinking that it may have to do with the fan, sometimes it starts right away as soon as I turn the car on and sometimes it starts when i turn the fan, hot or cool, on or off or the radio, which I think is coinscidental. Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? I would have to say it wither could be a "warming up" sound or something that is not engaging correctly. Sometimes a click clack, click click clack and sometimes a click clack click. Any suggestions?
Unless the control is in the off position on my '98 the fan is always running on mine. Could be something in the fan. See my post earlier today about heater fan.
