Hey all, I was detailing the inside of my Screw over the weekend when I noticed a flap of sound deadener loose on my truck. It is located on the firewall right under the brake pedal. It has a hole in the center of it. I pulled it back and much to my surprise I could the transmission bellhousing through the hole! It looks like there is supposed to be a grommet there sealing the hole but there isn't one. It doesn't look like there was ever one there to start with(no ring on the paint). I was getting a little noise when accelerating, almost like there was a hole somewhere. Sure enough, there is a hole somewhere! It is about 2 1/4" around! If anyone else has the same problem please let me know. I have to take the truck to the dealership anyway for the leather on the driver seat chipping, so while it's there I will have them fix this also. For now I made a patch out of some cardboard wrapped in electrical tape then tucked it behind the sound deadener. It works but not the way it's supposed to be. Thanks in advance!
The shift cable would make sense for that hole. I have the flow through console. I wonder if it's only the models with the console that might have this problem. The shifter cable would go through the floor under the console so the firewall hole wouldn't be needed. Thanks for the insight.
