As said before loosen the brackets, also loosen the fenders. Get bolts in everything and draw everything down slow. It worked for me.

I was about to ask almost the same questions. I brought a new fender from Mid-fifty, new running boards from NPD; the holes on the fender and running board lined up perfectly. I decided to get another new fender so I went back to NPD their fender hole doesn't line up with the running board hole its over an inch off to the outside; also the hole on the top inside of the fender doesn't line up with the air deflectors has anyone had this problem with fenders are there a difference. I do know that NPD has 56 fenders w/16&17 inch wheels and the 53-55 with only the 16 inch
