Pulling The EGR

Ok, guys if I pull off my EGR will it give my more hp/torque? Also can y'all tell me what are advantages/disadvantages of leaving it on, especially if your gaining more hp/torque by taking it off. I just programmed the truck with the SCT Xcal2 and if I decide to take off the EGR will I need to reprogram the truck again?

The person who programmed your X-Cal 2, most likely turned your EGR valve off.
