smog air pump
Hey fellas....I have a 87 f 150 with a siezed air pump..its non serpintine so it is easily eliminated but what do I have to do to the hose that goes into the intake?? Is there anything else that I will have to adjust to get rid of this?? should I change the intake to an older style? Any help would be welcome...I took the cat converter out as well.....free up some air LOL.

The air pump generally is plumbed into the exhaust manifolds, or to the catalytic converter directly to help burn off unburnt fuel. With an 87, I believe you can just plug the tube, remove the air pump, and not think about it again. Some of the newer trucks (around when OBDII came out in 95) seem to dislike this, some of them don't care.
