I have an '05 f150 supercrew with a 6.5" lift and 20" wheels. is the stock rear end something that should be modified due to the increase in wheel/tire size? and if so any ideas as to what gears to use
Check the tag on the inner door, or the metal tag affixed to the rear pumpkin. It will give you a code, that will tell us what gears you have. Also, you might want to ask the dealer what gears the truck has, since they may have changed them.
Well you wont damage anything running like that. The only thing you might notice is poorer gas mileage versus stock. If it runs fine, goes down the road fine, and you are happy with it, dont mess what ain't broke (a gear swap is NOT cheap!).
Thanks, I am no stranger to poor gas mileage , right now I get a whopping 8 mpg thankfully it is not a daily driver, what with gas topping out at $3.09 a gallon here in southern california
