Hey Every1, im new to this site so ill try to be some what painless about my dilema. My neighbor bought a new hemi 4x2 4 door 1500.Since his new purchase he's been some what rubbing Admin note: see our guidelines about language my nose with smart *** comments like, FORD cant compete with the HEMI and found off road dead and just stupid *** kiddy Admin note: see our guidelines about language that.Im hopeing to turn the tables and rub some Admin note: see our guidelines about language back on this Admin note: see our guidelines about language face. Here's what i have to work with( 2000 4x4 super cab off road 4.6L) all stock except a gibson extreme cat back sport truck exhaust.Im pondering what upgrades would work best together and thru your own experiences what performance mods are best suited for what i have.I would love nothing else than pulling next to Mr.Allofasuddenondodgesjock and blowing the doors of that hemi of his.Can this be done or is it all just a dream?????
P.s. im looking to stay around a 2,000 dollar budget.
You also have a weight dis-advantage compared to him on top of the smaller engine. I won't go near my bud who has a brand new Hemi and I have a 5.4l...sorry about the ribbing though, sounds like a real a-hole.
You'll beat him when his transmission shreds itself, as it inevitably will. It is, after all, a dodge. But trying to keep up with a hemi with a 4.6 while his tranny still works? Good luck, and if you succeed let me know how.
Your truck is 6 years old. Let's play the patience hand, and see where that Daimler is in 6 years. I say you've got the upper hand, you have a truck that doesn't NEED to prove itself. Save your $ and put up a fence! (I hear they make the best neighbors)
Ford has been doing something right. Top selling truck (and top selling vehicle a couple of times) for how many years now? I'm on my third Ford truck and would never consider owning a Dodge. If I wanted a hot rod I would buy a Mustang or Corvette.
