plastic wrap

I keep a roll of plastic wrap (like you'd use for food) in my shop. It's great if you need to cover something you're working on. Will wrap and stretch around most anything and keeps dust out of intricate parts. Once you start using it you find more uses, too. Best of all it's CHEAP!!!

Also great to cover you bench with when you need to spray small parts or glue something.

If you are parked outside in winter and expecting snow you can wrap your windshield wipers with it to keep them from becoming a mass of ice.

We get the big restaurant-sized pack at Sam's. You can get it wider, and one roll lasts for years. I also keep a few sizes of zip-lock bags handy for keeping parts organized. Sure helps when your projects drag on for years, like mine do!

With zlock bags I put them over my side mirrors to keep the ice off in the winter. For the windshield I've been using that plastic sheets that you can put down as a weedbarrier.
