Engine swap

I have a 92 with a 5.0 in it, am thinking about replacing it with a 5.8 out of a 96 F150. My questions are, do I need the computer from the 96, and are there any "gotcha's" I should be aware of.

Thanks for any input.

DO a search for 302-351w swap lots and lots of info. for your swap you will need an ecu from a 90-94 5.8/e4od combo. that is if you have an auto tranny. get the 5.8 from the 96 complete as possible. you will need to change the distributor in the 96 to one with the tfi module mounted on it. it needs to look like whats on your 5.0. just reuse your 5.0 wiring harness. the 96 will have a 3g alt so that wiring will need upgraded and can be found here for cheap www.fordfuelinjection.com. the swap is pretty easy actually once you get started.
is the 96 motor a runner or will it need some work or rebuilt?
