LSD axel code 17?

LSD axel code 17?
I am looking into putting an LSD into my truck, but I am not sure what my options are. My tranny code is U and my axel code is 17. I can't even find what a "17" axel is. Thanks for any info.

Look under Articles on this site for "Axle Code Chart". A 17 would indicate a 3.31 gear ratio for a '95 or a 3.25 ratio for a '71.
I just put in a used LSD with 3.55 gearing on my '91 f150 to replace an open differential with 2.73 gears and I'm very satisfied with the change, it's nice to finally have a decent first gear and great to see the "2 wheel peel" in gravel that means I'm pulling from both wheels.
