[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Sep-02 AT 08:54 PM (EST)]I have a '72 F250 with some damage to the bed floor. I'm looking for some opinions on repairing the damage. Somewhere in the truck's life someone has dropped something very heavy just inside the wheel well on the driver's side, causing a 9" x 12" and 1" deep depression. Over time this area has become rusted and small 1/2" holes have developed. I have stood on this area and it seems quite sturdy, but would still like to have it fixed. There are some ather areas of rust near the cab inside the bed, but not too bad. Are there patch panels for the bed? I have seen some panels in JC Whitney that cover one half of the bed, has anyone used these? My other option is to use POR-15 over the rusted areas and purchase a 8'x 4' diamond tread sheet and bolt that down. Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.
Is the damage on the wheelwell itself or on the floor near the wheelwell? I have a bed that I cut up to use as parts such as the wheelwells and parts of the floor and one complete side. If you can use any of these "patches" let me know.
Thanks for the follow up. The damage is to the floor. I would be interested in some of those patches. I'll have to get the measuring tape out and get the exact area.
Thanks agaain.
Yeah, I wish someone made full bed replacements of the corrugated material. I spent alot of time looking for that, but never found it. I have not used the JC whitney 1/2 sheets, but if they are the same thickness, I'm sure you could make them look nice.
