I have a screeching sound coming from around my torque convertor, and my trans temp gague hit an all time high of 185F yesterday, since I have parked the bus and I am teking it to a trans shop for an estiamte.
My question is has anybody had any similar symptoms, and I had a old trans tech from ford tell me a long time ago that the 99 2-350s had some bad sounding torque convertors that *may* work for ever and just sound bad, or could crap out soon, any input?
Browsing thru and came upon your message. I have a 99 250 with a bad sounding torque convertor that has been this why almost from new. I haven't seen any symptoms of overheating but am concerned. Noticed that you said that this problem may not be serious just sound bad, or go bad soon. I worry that with my luck it will go bad at the most in optune time. Did you get your unit replaced and did you find out any more?
