Audio for 2003 Expy

Not sure if there is anything that can be done, but thought I would check. Have 03 Expy with factory sound system w 6-disc changer. Would like to get better/stronger sound out of the system, but do not want to have to replace the speakers if I can get by with it. Am I wanting more than is possible?

first, get a new head unit.. i am a fan of pioneer but you can pick one. try that and see if you like the sound. it will make a huge difference.
