Yeah, i'd definantly kill anyone who would attempt to steal my truck. I think that i shouldnt have to lock my doors, i think i should be able to leave my truck running with the doors unlocked and not worry about it. I know that it would never happen. The victim didint commit the crime, the criminal did. He didnt have anything coming to him by leaving the keys in the Ig. No one deserves that.

Needless to say i lock my doors every night, remove stereo faceplates, hide valuebles under seats, remove keys, etc. I could probably leave the truck sit there keys in it and everything in my neighborhood, but i'm not that daring. And after putting in as much work as i have into my truck, i would not jeapordize it like that. Insurance premiums are rediculous anyway, and its not guys like him who make rates higher, its people who drive like idiots/drunk/etc and get into accidents, and the people who do the stealing. I dont want to live in a place where leaving your keys in the ig. is a crime.

bring it to the body shop....i had the body shop take care of dings and a huge dent that was on under my bed after I got the truck back. Take it to someone you know because anything can be claimed under the theft

at least try to get something out of this deal...If there are any major dents/scratches/noises, get it fixed/replaecd. good lcuk and be **** about it..

its getting so bad everywhere now you just about have to lock your stuff up. its a shame i used to be able to leave my keys in my truck overnight and not worry one bit. i dont do it anymore but i used to. as far as insurance rates the reason for that is the 100 million retirement plans for all the big shots that have to have everything that touches thier a$$ gold plated, but thats just my opinion

95 mph? are you serious?
Just for starters...

Frame
All suspension components (obviously including an alignment)
Rims and tires

Hopefully the police witnessed this and wrote a report to support it. This should help you with your insurance company. Glad you got back.

Thats good you got her back in one peice!

I'd take it to an alignment shop, they can look at the front end to see what damage has been done. I hope insurance will help you out.

A friend of mine in Miami had his truck stolen three times in 7 years. He got it back all three times. Well...in one way or another. First time it was a joy ride....kids. No damage, just a scare. Word of mouth told him who took it and the cops slapped the kids on the wrist. He never use to lock and many times left the windows down over night. This cured that problem. He was from the mid west originally...a tiny town where every one knew every one and you could trust people. A job transfer moved him to Miami. Second time it was locked up...but he left his sliding rear window closed, but not latched. Thieves are smart and don't like to make noise. They slid in and tore his column apart and used the truck to rob two gas stations until they abandoned it off a main highway. No prints were found except his. They got away clean but urinated in his truck (guess they didn't like Fords) adding insult to injury. Cost him his dedutcible plus $300 to have it cleaned and repaired. After he got it back he installed an alarm, and gated his driveway entrance. He also went out and bought a wheel boot to deter the thieves. It was bright orange. You couldn't have missed it. I told him that seemed like a pain, but his thought was for over night use only since that is when all the other thefts happened. And he chained that to a pretty good size tree in his yard. Well...three weeks ago...they got him. The truck was gone...booted tire laying in his driveway with the boot securley on it. The took his own spare off and put that on, (how they lifted it...even the cops don't know but marks in his driveway indicate a jack of some type was used...possibly a farmers type jack. Left a 2" x 6" depression in the sand). It was backed out through the gate breaking the chain (and I imagine scratching the tailgate...ouch!), alarm blairing all the way according to the neighbors. Well...if any of you all have ever been in some Miami neighborhoods at 3AM, blaring alarms are nothing. And no offense to any one from Miami! The cops found his truck...gutted and torched three days later. My friend has taken a transfer back to Lost River, KS, where he says he belongs. He has had it. Just goes to show you what lengths thieves will go to to get what they want. He had a few goodies on his truck...but nothing to write home to mom about. I live in the country. I lock my trucks while in the garage and have a kill switch for the door openers for over night. I have bars on the garage windows and door. If they are going to steal one, they will have to work for it. But...alas...a thief does nothing more all day they trying to find ways to beat the system. They will use every advantage they can....even your OWN mistakes which may seem normal to you. They have no cuth for anyone but themselves. I say protect yourself at all times. First thing the police asked him was where are the keys and was it locked. The cop made the comment to him that if he could not produce the keys, he would assume the vehicle was unattended. And being unattended (locked and secure)...the insurance industry is considering approaching the insurance commission and pushing a law requiring proof the vehicle was secure before they pay any theft and theft/damage claims...like they did years ago on tort vs. full tort to limit liabilities. They are also whispering back and forth with the car manufacturers as well. It is a shame....the bad guy always gets the rights.

Glad you got your truck back. Hopefully things will be fine and you can help spread the word...to lock is to be secure. )

I lock my doors while parked in my garrage.....can never be too careful, and If i hear the glass shatter some night while I'm in bed, I grab my trusty H+K and head down to see how bullet resistant some punk car thief is.
