I never said we "can't" be rude. I said there isn't any room for it on this board. This is a monitored board and has certain guidelines. Barring that, I would like to think that we are adults on this board and can carry on civil discussion and help one another without resorting to the poor qualities of people's character. I've been on other message boards and they are rampant with imaturity, rudeness, spamming and simply chaos. I like the maturity on this board and the civility and I'd like to keep it that way, and I belive most people would agree with me.
And yes, you're right, the world isn't all flowery and nice. But does that mean we must condone the negative elements that are out there? Should we promote rudeness and close-mindedness or perhaps encourage people to grow and promote maturity, civility, understanding and ultimately peace in the world?? Maybe that last bit come off a lil like a Halmark card, but oh well. I don't like being rude to people for no reason and I don't tolerate it from others when I can help it. If you like people being rude to you or just enjoy being rude then that's your right. That's why I love America. But I'm going to call you on it when you do it.
When I put my stereo in years ago I simply removed the glovebox and defrost vent hoses. Then I reached behing the dash and removed the stock radio and swapped it with a new shaft control Kenwood. I dont remember cutting anything back there.
the only reason to cut is if you are putting a stereo in it that has buttons rather than *****. If uses shaft controls then it should fit right in place of the ol stock unit
Hey, I own a 69 F-100 also, when i install my stereo in my truck, I
will leave the factory radio in and install the new in an overhead
console. I don't like it, but my truck is intact.

You can put in a shaftless stereo in your truck without cutting it if you stop and look at it. I pulled the chrome trim off of a junlkyard truck and trimmed it to fit the new stereo. (I put the old one on the shelf in the garage) I then bent the "ears" (Where the shafts mount the oem radio to the dash) back and out of the way. If I ever want to go back to the stock radio all I have to do is bend the ears back and put the old trim piece back on and I am back to factory origanal.
