Locking down hood on 67-72

Has anyone found a good way to lock down the hood on their truck? I was thinking of attaching a chain to the underside of the hood and securing it to the frame with a padlock or something. I have a battery cut out switch and a locking gas cap to deter vandals or theives but no way of securing the hood. Any suggestions?

I took a piece of 1/8" cable from Home Depot and cut it long enough to make a loop at each end and clamp them with ferrels. I run the cable through the top most part of the hood bracket and when the hood is almost closed, I put my lock through the two loops and lock it to the post where the hood latch catches. This way there is no extra rattles and you can't see it when the hood is closed. Just make sure you leave enough cable so that you can unlatch the hood and lift about 1"-2" to get to your lock.

Not really on the topic, but I am working on creating a full fiberglass front end for my '67 that is going to tilt forward. I imagine that will throw a would-be thief or 2 off
