I have a 1999, f250, 7.3 diesel, 4R100 automatic, 4X4, that seems to be shifting into overdrive almost to fast. It also sometimes shutters a little when going into overdrive. I have 56,000 miles on it now and had the transmission flushed at 26,000 miles. I read in the forum that changing a transmission solenoid valve may solve the shifting problems. does any one have more info on what and where the solenoid valve is or any other ideas on this problem.

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts and the diesel forums.
What type of fluid was used when it was flushed? Your tranny calls for regular old Mercon, and not the more popular Mercon V...or any other multi-use fluid.
Does it make any noise...like a rattle while at idle?
Last time the tranny fluid was changed it was regular mercon. It does make a rattling noise when idling but it always made that noise since I bought it and that is when I had the fluid changed.
