Kwik Mod Now Complete - One Question!

I did my kwik mod tonight, all went well except quite a struggle to get filter onto the rubber intake. I took the intake right off to make the install easier. When I did this I noticed where the intake meets the pipe leading to the turbo an oily substance inside the pipe. Is this normal? What is that? Yes I am new to diesels but I am learning fast. I look forward to your responses.

do some research.. on the CCV mod. did you see the little plastic thingie sticking in the way of the airflow on that plastic coupler between the two intake hoses? that sucks the vapors from the crankcase into the intake, where they are ran through the intake and then burnt again to help emissions. this is a bad idea, only for emissions. do a search, youll get tons of info.

thats normal it just takes the crankcase vapors and reburns them for emissions reasons. some oil in your intake is normal. because of the high pressures in the crankcase the oil vapor has to go somewhere instead of blowing seals so ford did not want to just dump it on the ground or in the exhaust so for emmissions they reburn it in the engine similar to an egr on a gasser

As Kris said, do a search on the CCV mod or check his gallery(or mine) and you will see how easy it is to do and get rid of the "thingie" as Kris calls it. If you can't find a piece of 4" exhaust tubing PM me and I can probably help you out!
