You just want a block, or a complete engine?

I have a block that I was going to rebuild, then decided that I was better off to go to a junkyard and buy a used one, so I did.

AXE168, Welcome to the Ford Truck Forum, have fun.

Try your local junkyard, you can find them fairly cheap price.

Just make sure it's a 390 and not a 360, this can be done by measuring the stroke of the crank.

A 360 will fit, but just ask and they will get you a 390.

I've got a 352 in the truck now, but would rather build a 390 for it

Ford 390

If its your desire to save money when you build your 390. Use the 352 block as it is the same bore and block casting as the 390, then buy a 390 kit, a set of 390 rods, and a 390 crank. All of these parts are available through most local auto parts stores as reconditioned parts. Be careful to determine what the bore of the cylinders before ordering your kit. The bore can be determined by your local machine shop.

Nope, that is incorrect. The 352 bore is 4.00 where the 360/390 are 4.05. Now of course you can have a 352 block bored to 4.05, then go buy up 390 parts..
