Filler hose is all kinked up on my 79'
I noticed last couple times I filled her up it was hard to get her to take the gas.
I would end up backing the nozzle out a bit and it helped.
That no longer did it and I'd have to hold the nozzle 1/4 throttle to keep it from shutting off every 3 seconds.
Now I can't get anything in there.
It finally dawned on me to check the filler hose and viola! It is kinked something awful right at the frame rail.
I can't pull it or flex it enough to flatten out, guess I'll have to replace it.
What is the recommended type of hose to put in there? Is there such a thing as fuel filler hose?
I thought I had done this before on this truck, but it must have been another rig.
Thanks,
Blair

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have essentially the same problem on my 1980 F-150 flareside. It seems that my filler hose is being compressed between the frame rail and the bed also. There was a home made lift kit on mine and I didn't have a problem filling up until I removed the blocks and lowered the bed.
I'm going to Napa this morning. Thanks for the info

I had the same problem
I had the same problem. Here's how you fix it once and for all.
Buy a length of filler hose (like $70.00, not cheap). Go to the hardware store and buy a 2" ABS 90 in the plumbing section. Cut the 90 off to make a 45 (+ or -). Cut the hose to fit the 45 approximately the same length as your old hose. Viola! Done.
PS: ABS is gas-proof.
Hope this helps.
