what would I need to do to get my head ported and polished? would this add any power at all? I mean is it worth it? my 300 is all stock, it's EFI... I'm just wondering if I got the head P and P'd, would it be worth it, and would I need to do any other stuff or anything?
I thought our shop prices high! That's what a guy quoted me for a pair of V8 heads last year. Not sure if port and polish would be worth it or not. If your engine is pretty much stock I'm sure it would help but who much extra does it cost over a regular rebuild? I guess it depends on what you want to use the engine for?
Even without changing the cam a P&P will show an improvement, especially if you port match, clean up the exaust manfolds and at least polish the intake lower runners. You should see some mild improvement in throtle response and improved milage (if driving habits stay the same). Whether it is "worth it" is up to you based on what actual cost is when compared to the results.
