Post 302 Heads or 351w Heads?

Hello all,

Here is my question, how can I tell if I have 302 heads on my 302 or 351W heads on my 302? My truck is a 1984 Bronco (4x4).
Thanks,

One way would be to take out a head bolt. If it is shouldered for a 1/2" hole, then you would have 351w heads on a 302, since the 302 takes smaller head bolts than a 351w. If the date code on the heads is 1977 or later, it really doesn't make any difference since the 302 and 351w heads were the same after this date(except for the head bolt hole size).
