i recently purchased a tuner, i was wondering what the top speed you have achieved, i know the tuner i have says 120 but i think i am getting more out of mine. i have long strait run that i take and people seem to wind it up a bit on it, just cant resist running somebody, last night it was a lexus ls 350 . smoked him, i have a 2000 7.3 diesel with 4inch pipe turbo tail, air box ,gauges 373 gears. i wasunning a tow chip before and it had a .top speed limiter of 120 but this feels way faster.

I ran with some little hamster-SUV "cayenne" thingy for about 20 miles on a somewhat curvy, hilly toll-road in South Orange County, Ca a few weeks ago.
It came up behind me in the fast lane, I moved over (unlike most LoCal dorks) and then paced him from a 1/4 mile back...sweet front door!
He apparantly wanted to leave me behind...
We got up to 105 for about 10-15 minutes...I was right against the limiter (cut out twice) but it was all he could/would/was capable of doing anyway, so maintained my position perfectly Until I passed him on the ramp to the 91 , where apparently he was uneasy turning and going that fast in his POS.
My EX was completely, totally and absolutely at ease at that speed at that time on that road. After all my 36K stuff is finished, I am gonna get a tuner, just wish i could decide which one to run...and which exhaust...and if i should screw with the intake...
Anyway, overheating the tires is my only concern so far, and am looking forward to more speed when it I hit that part of the "ownership curve"

My truck is so stable at speed that 98 seems ridiculously low. 80 feels like I'm cruisin' at 50. One of the"problems" with these trucks: you're haulin' tail but it just doesn't feel like it.
If the tires (and my license) could handle it I would have no problem running 110+ on the highway. Just don't ask me to turn at that speed!

My wife has commented, and I agree that it IS a problem on local, highly radar-enforced, roads. We have a buncha 45 mph spots that 65 would be safe...and in the EX 65 FEELS like you should get out and push.

i get to chime in here..... i drive my X and my wife drives an 05 cayenne turbo...its got a ton more power than the X and it will, at any time or speed, blow the doors off my or any X. if it was a turbo, he was playing you like a fool. sorry to get your hopes up thinking you outran a porshe......
I seriously doubt a non turbo Cayenne could be beat by an X.. Sorry. Yea it is about the driver but we are talking about taking a nimble porche cayenne VS a X.. Plueese!!
I am feeling you guys. I think that a cayenne is bad and will smoke alot of CARS let alone an X. I can ride my RC51 on the track and put down some respectible lap times, but you but me on any other liter bike and I am toast. It could be the same thing there. Not used to the power of the cayanne or not sure of what it will do. Thats all
A base model Cayenne V-6 is easy prey for a modified PSD, but a Cayenne S (340 HP V-8), or Cayenne turbo (450 HP) will leave any PSD for dead. The turbo model is electronically limited to 155MPH. Doesn't matter who is behind the wheel.
Unfortunately it does matter. 155 in a straight line is one thing, but get in the twisties, being unfamiliar with a vehicle will land you over the side saying WTF in a stretcher.
Sorry for the hijack. I just realized what we did. Yes, I believe the top speed is the same as your tow program, but the extra power will get you there faster.
