Hello all, I am new to old Ford trucks. Just got my wifes Grandmothers 69 Ford truck purchased new in 69. 6 cylinder with c6 tranny. Tranny is getting a rebuild. I need help on compatability issues. I need to replaced the grill and pieces surrounding the headlights do to dents. Are any other Ford truck grills able to fit this truck? I appreciate any help. Jon

First of welcome to the Forum and Welcome to the joy of Old Ford Trucks.

Any of the grilles from the '67-'72 will bolt in. But I think the early model head light moldings are different in compatible with the later model grilles and head light surrounds.

I am a little off about the C6 behind a 6 cylinder. I thought those were saved for the Big Block V8's. I could be wrong but that is what I remeber. I also may be wrong about the compatibility of the headlight surrounds.

Good luck on the project

Scotty

Jon, I like Scotty don't think your tranny is factory installed. I think the FMX C-O-M would only come behind the 352 in 67, and 3 on the tree and 3+ granny on the floor behind the I6. If you haven't started the rebuild yet, a C4 or AOD would be a better tranny behind the little 6. IMHO

Your best bet is a grille and bezels from a '67, '68 or '69. The only real difference between these three years is the "look" of the bars within the grille shell. When you get into '70, '71 and '71 the grilles will work, but the bezels are different and the grille inserts are different between '70 and '71-72. I've also heard that there are some minor mounting issues. Plus, there are differences in turn signal lighting between the '60's and '70's models.

Good Luck.
