I'm in the process of rebuilding the bench seat in my F100 ('67 cab/front clip on '70 running gear). I've removed the seat cover, the cotton batting, and the burlap (with its wire runners). I've repaired the springs and welded the frame. I can purchase the burlap locally, no problem. But what I need is a source for the foam rubber used in the 1970-72 seats (seat bottom and back).
I've searched:
this site - not available
Carpenter's - not available
J. C. Whitney - not available
etc., etc., etc. - not available
My wife uses a lot of foam pads in a "particular" spot, but I don't think they're big enough for the seat... . Sorry, just had to say that.... maybe I got a laugh?....
I left the bench seat environment and went to a leather 40/20/40 arrangement about a year ago; you can see them on my web site below.
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess what I was looking for was something similar to the foam pads offered in some of the catalogs (I'm not naming any) that are pre-formed and sized for an exact fit, as for the "50s trucks. I saw that the pads offered for the seat back were thicker (wider?) at the bottom than at the top, and assumed (before I looked) that the seat back on my '67 cab also needed a "formed" pad.
We have a store here called "Bonanza City" that carries both burlap and foam padding in sizes large enough to cover my seat (so my wife tells me -- Boy, I'm getting it from all sides). I will, with all humility, sidle over to Bonanza City and view their goods.
