best way to get rid of oxidation
the paint on my 86 bII is oxidized pretty bad.i have tried some rubbing compound by turtle wax and it came out pretty good. does anyone know of any better brand to use that really works good? should i use an electric buffer or should i do the "wax on wax off" by hand method?

Your best fix, which will cost $$$, is to repaint the vehichle. Anyone who's seen the 80's Fords, etc., knows how terrible the "politically-correct-EPA-earth-friendly" first-run paints were. When the EPA basically told the automotive industry and others that they had to manufacture/use chromate-free paint products... all hell broke loose. Good ol' toxic chromates (zinc chromate, etc) provided two IMPORTANT paint properties. Rust inhibiting and adhesion. I am in the process of quick-fixing my hood, as the original clearcoat faded to the point where the previous-owner's rattle-can quick fix flaked off. That reminds me, I need to wash it down with degreaser and scuff it down and wipe it down with a lacquer thinner dampened rag and shoot some color and clearcoat at it soon... it's been shrinking for around a month now haha.
