OK, strange question: I'm in the process of converting my A/C compressor on my 86 F250 (diesel) to an on-board air compressor. I have removed the high and low pressure lines from the compressor (lines have been empty for a long time). There are 2 fittings on the top, the smaller one appears to be 3/8" male, but a 3/8" female NPT connector seems a little loose on it. The larger one seems to be 5/8" male, but I can't seem to find a 5/8" fitting anywhere.
So, I guess my question is: Does anyone know if they are 3/8" and 5/8"? Will NPT threaded connections work or are they something different? If I can't find the correct 5/8" fitting, can I pull current fitting off and swap it with the 3/8" fitting off another compressor?
