Hey Y'all!
First time posting! I just bought a 1969 F-100 for 300 bucks. The engine is shot in it, so I'm going to wait to put a new engine in and go ahead and start restoring the truck from the frame up.
My question is this. It has a styleside short bed on it and I'm thinking of putting a stepside on it. Will it fit without any modification?
Yes- it will fit. You will need to get new countersunk bolts and washers to attach the step side and you will need to re-wire from the back plugs to the tail lights.
I have a '68 F-100. If you plan on doing a frame up restoration, take a good look at your radiator support. If it's bad, start keeping an eye open for one NOW. They are really tough to find, and no-one makes them. Just a heads up.
about the radiator support. Just go to the local junk yard and get one of the galvanized out of the mid 70's. Since they are galvanized they do not rust and they will fit in with just a couple of holes needed to be drilled. Thats what i used in mine.
