On my rebuilt 390 I have got a new harmonic balancer. The motor was pulled out of a 73 f100. Should this be a 7" or a 7.5" balancer? Maybe this will explain why my pointer is off.
Hey guys, my OE FoMoCo balancer is a single belt unit where the balancer is part of the pulley (or vise-versa). It's 6.5" diameter. Here's a pic:
The only balancer I can find is this style at 7.5":
I know the water pump pulley was pretty close to it before I tore it all apart. Will this still work for my application?? Now if the pulley itself is still 6.5", I guess I'd be fine. BUT if the balancer part is now pushed backwards towards the crank do I need a different spacer? Any knowledge, thanks!
