I don't know about the '03 F250 specifically, but most of the time you just use a 3/8 socket wrench. That's what it was on my '87 Bronco II, '89 Bronco, '95 F250 and '98 Explorer anyway.
If it has a square opening, just put the wrench on it and go with no need for any other socket or tools. You've got me curious as to whether or not they have changed things so let us know.
