I can't see inside the d*@! door to know what the h@!* I'm supposed to be taking apart!! I hate these D!@# windows on this SCREWed up truck!! Short of taking it to the shop, anyone have ANY advice on how to remove the assembly in a timely manner, say less than 21 years?!?!?! (should have bought a Dodge!! seems much easier to change out the tranny!!) Thanks.

It's not that hard. Only tools required are a drill with a selection of bits, a Philips screwdriver and an 8mm socket.
First remove he inner door skin and the plastic vapor barrier.
You should see 3 dimples in the door sheetmetal around the area where the motor is mounted. Drill these out big enough to get the socket on the bolts behind. Remove the bolts and the motor can be removed from the door. Clean out the gear case and install the new rollers with some fresh grease. Reinstall the motor in the door. The roller kits are available on Ebay for $0.99.

The year matters
Great information on power window problems, but the model year on F-150 matters. Just went into my 1999 F-150 driver side window. It had stopped working, either up or down. Bought the new "bearing pins" from NAPA ($25), read all I could about the how to's. Got the motor, gear box, and solid arms out of door. NOTE: Before you try to remove the motor/gearbox from the control arms, mark it's position (for later re-positioning) and clamp everything down. Other wise when the last bolt is removed the spring tension will be released and it might get you, it just missed me. Now the bad part for my 1999 F-150, the gear box where the bearing pins live is a sealed unit, could not get into it, it is a pressed together fit. But it was my lucky day (see just missed me above). When the spring turned loose, the gear box was knocked into working again. I guess it moved the worn pins just enough. I'm sure it will not last long, but for now it works. I'll be looking for a replacement gear box for the next time. Thanks
