Oil change question...

We have a couple of old international tractors on the farm that the filters in my mind are installed upside down. Servicing those is when I found out about the poking a hole trick, my old man was a little bummed when I asked how to get the oil out prior to unscrewing it, think he was waiting for me to make a big mess. I use an old #1 phillips with a hammer, it works.
