So yea, this is my first post. Well I have an '87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and I recently bought a 351W from a '74 or '76 Econoline. I'm planning to build it up a little, but before I start I was wondering what the stock hp/tq specs are? As for mods, I have to get it rebuilt, and I'm thinking GT40 heads, .30 bore, 4bbl 650cfm Edelbrock, and a cam. Which cam should I go with? Any other essential mods? Thanks in advance for the info.
Oh, and if you wanna see the Turbo Coupe...go here.
Well, the T-Bird I got it out of had a whopper-jawed frame because of it's torque, which is what I'm looking forward to... So I think some GT-40 heads, a cam, BBK headers (which I have) and a 4bbl would liven it up to around 300 HP, wouldn't you?

RPM intake on top and the right cam choice and 300...psh your not aiming high enough. Your gonna invest the time and money to buy those parts do the research and and get exeactly what HP you want. 300 is easy to get......
Maybe I should mention I'm only 16...300 is good enought for me right now. Although I have the cash to really build this thing, I want to wait to do so until I have another daily driver. 500 carbureted horses isn't the best DD. Eventually I'll bore it out, port & polish, etc., but for right now I want some quick and easy horsepower that isn't outrageously dangerous for a high-school student....Oh, and what cam do you think I should run?
Edelbrock heads, edelbrock performer RPM, 660 holley carb, headers, and a crane 443901 cam. That combination should make you VERY happy, 300-350 horse....max reliability and a nice idle.
