It would go pretty good, not quite as good as a 5.0l mustang of the time but very close. I think they put out around 200hp. I remember taking a friend of mine for a ride shortly after I got it. I shifted into fifth at 100 miles/hour, he looked at me and said "you weren't in fifth yet" I said nope!!! It topped out around 130mph!!

One thing that surprised me with that turbo 4 banger is that I got great mileage on the highway. The very best it did was 47mpg cruising at 110kl. Drove from Langham(were I filled up) to Prince Albert and it cost me $6 to fill. Can't remember what gas was then, but a lot cheaper than today!!

Man that is crazy mileage, too bad that wasnt consistant hey!
I used to take my mustang to 180 km/h in third gear before I shifted into fourth, it was nuts!

I would get consistently 40mpg or better on the highway in summer, I sure wish the focus was as good!!
180km/h in third, Wow!!! that's moving!! Was your mustang a 5 speed or 4?
Only time I've gone faster was with my old 1000cc sport bike. 240km/h in forth gear when I chickened out, had two more gears left!

Sounds like what mine could do. Gotta love the 2:73's in the rear end......
Actually I hated them. 3:55's were the perfect gear for the 5.0L IMHO.
I only saw a drop of 2mpg and it was faster. ( top speed )

Haha well now a days is a little different then back then
But I tell ya, you wanna know what a vehicle can and cant do, just ask
It was a 5 speed, and had the 2.73 rear end in it, and I loved the rear end. Mind ya, I never got to really test a stang out with a lower geared rear end in it either.
