I was browsing ebay a few days and I saw some guy with a fuel water seperator off a PSD. He said it was in good and had a "shim kit" from the stealership in the fuel pressure part . He claimed this is to increase pressure for better performance. Is this true?? Does this do that much for performance?? I have edge chip now with 3" downpipe, 4" exhaust, modified airflow. Never too much performance haha.....
I believe you can get a cali truck fuel pressure spring that will raise the fuel pressure from the dealership, but a bb will do the same. Increase performance? No, but it does smooth out the idle a little. Read this (click here) scroll down a little more than half way for shim the fuel regulator.
If you was to do a little/lot of searching here, I think you will find more than enough info on how and where to drop a stainless steel ball in the pressure regulator you have now. This raised my fuel pressure more than enough and cost you about a dime at your hardware store...
Not a bad project to do at all, might take you 20 minutes if you dink around and clean a few things as you go LOL... I used 3/16" stainless steel ball bearing in my 95. Here is a link to some PIC's that might be of interest. He uses a small screw head for his shim.
