F250 Fire Radio Console and Siren Mounting -- Help!!
Hi all Firefighters!
I have an F250 SD and I need to mount my radios. I would like to build a custom console for my truck.. I am looking for plans and Ideas that I can use. I have the following equipment to mount.
1. Icom Mobile
2. Alinco Moble
3. Sho-Me Siren Control
4. Galls Street Thunder Light control panel.
5. Secondary light control panel
6. Mobile Scanner
I want to have room for a power inverter and additional gauges. Also want to be able to install subdued lighting systems to light the console.
I have the dual seats with the deep console in the center. The truck is a super cab.
I also need to mount my Sho-Me 30.0215.P00 concealed siren speaker and I have no idea where in the F250 SD that I can put the thing or how to properly mount it.
Here is a link to a pic of the siren speaker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Craig-
Good to see a fellow firefighter on the list. I've done many installs on POVs (including several of my own) as well as apparatus of varying descriptions. I'll do what I can to help.
First, I'm not sure if I would advise building a custom console. You're going to spend a lot of time trying to fabricate something - at least, I would... not my thing. There are several companies out there who construct consoles for vehicles... Havis Shields, Gamber Johnson, Troy, Jotto, and a few others. Personally, my current truck (2005 F350SD 4x4 CC PSD) has a Havis Consolidator 30" console installed, which will contain 3 Kenwood mobiles, 6 Motorola mobiles, a Whelen Cencom, aux switch panel, and a few other toys (still working on the final build... been dragging my feet and spending my time putting radios in other vehicles.) I'd suggest taking a serious look at the above-mentioned companies... you may find what you want without having to custom-fab the console, or at least come up with some ideas for what you want to build.
On the siren speaker, I'd ditch the "sugar scoop"... they're a pain to mount. Look into the Whelen SA314P, which you can easily mount between the grille and the AC condenser. Personally, I run a pair of SA314Ps mounted on my Ranch Hand front end replacement, between the grille and the guard itself.
Feel free to PM me if you want.
