Does anyone know how this tuff attaches to the tail light. I am going to buy some but can't find any details as to how it attaches to the tail light. On the back of my tail lights there is a slight nub but nothing that looks obvious as to holding the conduit in place.
Don't remember where I bought mine but...The end of the conduit that mounts to the taillight is sort of an upside down bell shape. The tail light mounts to the bracket, and on the opposite side of the bracket is a turned down dust shield which turns down and starts to round out, and the bottom (hanging just slightly lower than the tail light) has two prongs that bend around the bell end of the conduit. It isn't a rigid mounting but it holds it in place.
so the two prongs clamp the conduit bell, the conduit doesn't actually touch the back of the lense housing? (it isn't flexible enough to turn the 90 degrees in such a short space..)..
I drilled (punched with my greenlee punch) holes in the bed lower panel..
You have to have about an 1" hole for the grommet to fit in then the end of the flex hose will be tight in the grommet. There is also a fitting on the tail light end that bolts to the tail light housing just behind the tail light bracket, slip the other end on the conduit uner this and tighten.
Yeh, Had the grommets (somewhere!).. they WERE in the box with the lights and conduit, but.. well, I tossed the box (bad for a packrat like me!)..
anyhow, not sure what you mean.. here are some pics, more in my gallery.
does the conduit get pinched in by the two clamp edges of the housing, or what? doesn't seem to make sense yet.. what is that little collar on the tube for?
does it go over (cover) the two crimp wings after crimping the conduit? (just thought of that, hide the telltail signs of scratches etc)
The top picture is correct for the part that goes in the hole w/grommet in the bed side, the second one is correct for the tail light, the last photo is just missing the shield that is in the second photo.I'll post some pics tomorrow of how mine is installed.

don't forget those pics..
I think you are saying that I have the tube backwards.. small end at the light, big end at the body..
that collar is the only confusion.. makes no sense to have it at the body..
so I'm back to thinkin it should be a vanity cover over the two crimp arms on the back wire cover.. crimp them around the conduit, then slide that collar over to cover.
Sam I took pictures today however, I can't seem to find the cord to my camera so I can download the pictures. Your last picture is correct the rubber end goes on the tail light then the cover over it. When my girls get home maybe they know where the cord is, if so I'll post pics later tonight.
Jaye
I have mine pushed up behind the end piece however, on a second look maybe the tabs at the end of the shield should be bent in a circle and push the cap on the end. I think I'll try that if I don't get home to late tomorrow.;
Sam I just went out to my garage and double checked the collar is on the inside and the tabs are bent so the collar doesn't slide out.
