Hey I went to look at that 52 F1, Holy smokes, I think it was in a demo derby from the looks of the front end. not a ton of rust, but dented pretty dang good. the cab (excepting the the roof is pushed down) is in pretty good shape, cab corners are even solid. the doors are better than what I have currently no rust through just a couple small dings.
I asked him what he had to get out of it "$700-$800" I told him I could maybe pay $300-400 tops. if he doesnt have any buyers by Friday he's going to call me back.
Oh and the flathead 8 five of the spark plugs are removed and you can visually see the crap inside the holes!
Do you think the whole thing is worth 3-400 ?? engine and trans are complete not sure if its 3 or 4 spd and the odometer say 90K ?

3 or 4 as in 30 or 40 ?????? i wish you were here as not too long ago i had to pass on a 51 f-1 turqoise and white , running with a flat head v-8 , needed a windsheild . i had no " extra " cash and turned a freind on another site onto it . it was for sale for $ 900.00 . dont know how it turned out ..................
I told him I could possibly pay $300 to $400 tops for it. My only problem would be what to do with the extra parts- frame, cab etc as I dont think I could use them.
Ouch! personally, I'd offer him 50 for the doors...and then run, if I could get them for 100...let HIM deal with the scrap.
But, long ago I told myself, NO parts trucks! I passed on a cab that had my rear of the cab, but that was ALL it had, offered him 100, he held out for 110, so I walked, after driving 3 hours. But that's me...better to spend 100 for something I do need, than try to get rid of something perhaps no one else needs. That might make the doors cost 2 or 3 hundred...
Very good point Roger, I guess I'll see what happens.
There is quite a few other parts I'm sure I could use, but like you mention at the cost of dealing with the scrap. of course with scrap prices recently I have seen lots of people advertising to pick up scrap iron and cars etc,
I could part everything possible then whatever is left that nobody wants or needs let someone come get it? Hmmmmm
