Truck heighth

02 F-350 stock tires and rims.
Measuring my Southland flatdeck trailer it looks like my trucks to high to pull it?
Has anyone ever run into this problem?
It looks like there isnt enough clearance between the top of the box and the gooseneck hitch?
It barley clears and if I was on any kind of angle im sure it wouldnt?
Anyone run into this problem?

I see two optioins available, sure there is more, but here goes, 1) you stated a F350, do you have 4" spacer blocks over the rear axle? You could remove or have them removed and replace with 2" spacer, that would lower the deck height. or 2) do as I did on my 5th wheel and flip the axles on the trailer to make the overal trailer height higher. Mine was more to eliminat the 6-8 inch difference to level the trailer. Also if you put a leveling kit on the front, it will lower the tailgate height a little, like maybe an inch if lucky.

should be the same clearance unless you had a flatbed before. Ford side rail height hasn't changed.

No, inside bed rail height is what I am talking about. That is where the clearence issue would be. As you stated [top of the box and the gooseneck hitch] As long as the gooseneck remains the same so will the clearence to the top rail. You will just have to jack it a little higher to get hooked up. Might put the trailer out of level, but that is something that has to be considered before changing equipment.

I do have the 4 inch blocks so i guess i can gain that 2 inches.
That might be enough in most cases unless I go through a dip or back the trailer into a ditch to load something.

MCI if the truck is higher off the ground wouldnt it make the gooseneck hitch slope back?
In which case near the tailgate its almost going to touch?
When I measure from the ground to the bottom of my box/bed its higher than the deck of my trailer.
So the truck is higher than the trailer.
I have some adjustment on the trailer hitch itself,(slides up and down) but that still wont make things level.

If you have much of a load it will bring your rear of your pickup down, should help to level things out. I have a trailmax 25' gooseneck and I don't have any problem with clearence on my 06 F350.

wouldnt that lower the Gvwr? since the only diff between a 250 and 350 is the block?

MCI one more dumb question and Ill leave you alone ?
How much clearance do you think you have between the top of your bed/box and your gooseneck hitch bottom? 4 inches?
Has it ever came close to hitting?
I guess ill just go ahead and get my hitch installed.
The hitch installed is going to be $1700.00 so thats why I was asking all these questions before I did it, I didnt want to waste 1700 bucks.

I have 6" of clearence, and it has rubbed many times when going thru ditches, that has only been in offroad conditions on the farm, never had a problem on the road.

$1700 is pretty steep price for a gooseneck hitch, I paid $525 for mine and installed it in 2 hours. It is a B&W turnover hitch and it is the second one I have had, I would recomend that you check them out. www.turnoverball.com

I know the price is steep and thats for the exact setup you reccomend.

Im in Canada and we pay double for anything from The US by the time it gets here.

Then approx 6-7 hundred they quoted me for the install including the brake controller.

So when you break it down to hitch price , shipping , customs , brake controller , labour and tax it comes pretty close to what they are quoting me.

Great hitch, then if you get a fifth wheel travel trailer like I did, you can also get the companion hitch from B&W too. Sweet setup.
