I just got my injectors tested and 6 of 8 were shot. So I bit the bullit and just got a full set. The guys did cut me a good deal but it still was pricey. But now they didn't help at all. In fact the thing runs worse now than it did before. I installed them just like you're suposed to. Torked down to 120 inch pounds, made sure I got all the fuel and oil out of the cylinders, put the oil deflectors on, pluged in all the wires and they all looked fine( no cuts or tears) and then put the valve covers on. After it started I took it out to run it and it runs like crap. The throtle responce is down, its got no power, and now it has a real good vibration from 1500 to 2100 rpm. After putting on about 20 miles or so (I was hoping it would go away) it gets worse and worse. I just tore the whole thing apart and it looks ok. O... and now the service engine soon light is on. I don't know where to go next . Any help would be great.
maybe you got the injectors from an older model which were the single shot ones. the newer ones are split shot. if this is what hapened you will either have to get the right set or have your computer reprogrammed for single shots. are they performance or stock injectors? many of the performance ones are single shots because you can get more power out of them
They are stock injectors, but I'm not sure if there single or split. The shop I bought them from said they were direct replacements, how would I tell the difference?
