Has anybody else experienced this. Doing about 50 with light throttle the truck feels as if it is missing. They want me to send my unit in (I pay shipping) but I know it isnt a problem with my unit its thier programming. Ive run lvl 2 for 2 weeks now and had no problems. Filled up with 91 and programmed to lvl 3. It started right away. Programmed back to lvl 2 and no problems. From what I gather they have known about this for a few weeks. Maybe if enough ppl complain here they will get it fixed.
I think I experienced this too. I wasnt happy with how the engine was running with the hi-po tune (may have even dived in rpms while driving, causing a NASTY sensation). Im using level 2, with custom timing and shifts, and its great. If you have 91 with your lvl 2 tune, you can bump the timing up +1 to utilize the higher octane.
Question on updating programer, when i go to the website, the only upgrades are for the lightning. is this where you click? also, i cannot find where to download the software to upload stuff from my edge evo to my computer. help please.
The entire update process is laid out quite well in the owners manual that came with the unit. Are you sure you arent confusing the lightning (vehicle), with Lightning (name of the Edge software)? Check the manual. It should leave no grey area.

SORRY, I AM JUST DUMB!! THANKS FOR THE INSITE. EDGE PRODUCT WEBSITE WAS DOWN LAST TIME I CHECKED
Hey, no one said you were dumb. Sorry if I somehow came off like that. The instructions in the manual do give you the exact route to get everything working fine. I dont have mine in front of me, or I would lay it out step by step as they are printed.

i did not take it to heart! i just realized i remember reading about the lightning software. But every time i went to the website, for some reason, the lightning f150 stuck in my mind. thanks again for the insite, i will look at the manual again.
Do you have any word on why the edge website is down??
I have updated all my software and the evo as soon as I got it in. As far as them knowing about it there is a member on another forum that has the same problem and told them about it 6 weeks ago and still no fix. lvl 2 is great it would be nice to be able the run lvl 3 every once in awhile.
Mine worked fine on level 2 for about 3 weeks, then after an update, "NO START ON LEVEL 2." The Edge folks say they are working on it, I am going on the 5th week with this problem. They have promised me a fix by Tuesday of this week. Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. Clock is running out. If they don't have me running by late tomorrow, I will return it, as bad I hate to. I loved it when it worked right.
Has anyone had this problem with the evolution.....everytime i try and load the level 3, non custom or custom, when i get ready to push the gas, a message on the truck pops up "failsafe mode" and will not allow me to go any faster than idle. Help please....I have emailed edge and have not heard back from them.
New update: https://local.edgeproducts.com/edge/downloads/f150_evo/software/EvoVersionInformation.pdf
v18a (04/05/2006)
o Added support for the following calibration families: OKAP7 – 2004 4.6L RXCM3 – 2005 5.4L
o Address Level 2 "No Start" issue on OKAP9 family calibration.
o Fixed Level 3 performance issue on all 5.4L vehicles.
o Address 4th gear shudder. This usually occurrs when transitioning from zero to light throttle.
I just downloaded the update, and all appears to work as it is suppose to. At least the truck starts on level 2 and I can adjust tire size and gear ratio.
I was prepaired to send the Evolution back and demand a refund today if they didn't get me up and running, it took them a while but I am happy now.
It still won't monitor "EOT or VCT",I told the Edge folks "get me fixed up here and I'll be even in a better mood. We'll see.
