superchip causing service engine light??!!!??

Got a 2001 f250 4x4 - use the superchips tuner and got it on tow/safe mode with the rasie speed limit on -

when I really get on the gas my service engine light comes on sometimes - any else have this problem??

yes, that is because the truck is not supposed to see any more than 22 psi of boost "safely" on a stock tune. when you up the horsepower, youre adding more boost, and the engine thinks that is unsafe. as far as it knows, the truck is still running stock programming. you need a regulator that limits the amount of air pressure that can go to the sensor. do some searching for "MAP line regulator" and good luck.

Wierd.....(not sarcastic)

i have never seen the SES light on my truck. I hit 27 psi when I want to. No MAP tampering either.....spooky.

Same thing with me, BuickTurbo. I have seen 30psi on the boost gauge, no MAP fooler, but the only time I see the SES light is when it comes on at startup. Don't know why, maybe it's the 2000 model year?

Mine is the same @26lbs boost no big deal it thinks its running more than it should
