yes, that is because the truck is not supposed to see any more than 22 psi of boost "safely" on a stock tune. when you up the horsepower, youre adding more boost, and the engine thinks that is unsafe. as far as it knows, the truck is still running stock programming. you need a regulator that limits the amount of air pressure that can go to the sensor. do some searching for "MAP line regulator" and good luck.
Same thing with me, BuickTurbo. I have seen 30psi on the boost gauge, no MAP fooler, but the only time I see the SES light is when it comes on at startup. Don't know why, maybe it's the 2000 model year?
