audio head unit failed - need a new one

The Kenwood KDCMP625 head unit in my '96 Explorer c*****d out on me recently. I like the look of Kenwoods but would consider other brands if they won't fail on me. What would ya'll recommend I upgrade to? I'm running stock speakers.

If anyone's interested the CD play skips like the disc is badly scratched but these are brand-new discs (both burned mixes and retail discs).

Alpine, Blaupunkt and Pioneer are probably the top 3 or at least in the top 5 when it comes to car audio. I personally like Pioneed the best, for bang for buck value... even though I bought a JVC KD-G310 because I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it.

Boy, I'd just buy anything but Dual. You get what you pay for. Some guys don't like the sony speakers and subs, but their headunits are very nice.
