I have aquired a winch for my truck and was wondering if anyone has mounted theirs to a stock bumper or behind it. If someone could point me in the right direction without spending $400+ on a new bumper that would be great.

 

Don't mount it on the stock bumper, it's not made to handle that kind've force. Check the winch manufactures web sites for mounting options. I know that both Ramsey and Warn offer mounting systems for 87-96 Fords. Just depends how you want to mount it.

 

I realize that the bumper wont cut it but I thought about building a crossmember behind it and running the cable through the bumper via a hole.

 

I just had to say that my wife just saw this post and had to laugh. I didnt think anything about the name when I wrote it.

 

Now that you brought it up ... I was gonna add that I usually let them mount me!
