Ebay messages

Anyone ever get an insulting message on EBay?

I listed my motorcylce just to see what kind of bids it would generate. I wasn't too overly concerned with the sale. I took pictures from all angles and offered a detailed description for all of them. After the bid, I get a message from one of the bidders. "try using some better pictures ace...it would help potential buyers". I don't quite know what to think of that. I figure if a bidder isn't happy with what they see then they don't have to bid or they could simply ask questions and request additional photos.

I would like to list it again someday. Is there anyway to block a bidder?

Sometimes a general picture does not include pictures of specific wear points which is what is probably happening here. The user was very rude tho. Unfortunately there are a tremendous number of rude, ignorant, and just plain mean and nasty people on ebay. Check out some of the forums there, -they are absolutely ghastly places.

Haven't had a problem with it myself, but it can definitely happen. I agree, if they weren't happy about it, just don't bid... if they want more or better pics, they need to simply email and then you could have tried to accomodate. No need for idiots like that, but unfortunately, they are out there...

The best thing to do is to ignore them. They have no life and they're just trying to get a response out of you.

I disregard many items I might be interested in because the pictures are so bad and show nothing. Many sellers just snap a picture(s) without regard to the lighting or background. Buying from a distance is a crapshoot if you can't see what you're buying. I usually email the seller with specific questions.

I listed a toolbox and got TONs of questions, I had 7-8 pics of it, Some questions were very rude, I shrugged them off. you can make a blocked bidder list.

As far as pic quality, I learned EARLY on that stuff with a pic sells ALOT better than stuff with no pic. Before ebay I listed tons of stuff on classifieds2000.com (96-98) I would sell alot more by uploading scanned poloroids. I always had pics, Now with digi cams is a hellova lot easier . If an auction has crappy or no pics, I dont even waste my time, unless ive got a STRONG feeling that Ive got a diamond in the rough.

IMO, The person who wrote that is hindered by lack of social skills.

Try thinking of it that way ...and how he said it, no longer becomes rude just ignorant to other ways of writing something

There are many times people don't have enough specific pics to view the item.

This can result in less interest by potential buyers

"Anymore pics?" has become a standard question for me, and I ALWAYS ask at least one set of questions. If I'm really interested, maybe 2, 3, or 4 emails worth. (Why I can't think of them all at once still baffles me)

It's unfortunate grasshopper, that rudeness must be forgiven. An icepick in the forehead (ala Frank Zappa) relieves a pain in the neck.

Just block the fool, nothing else can be done.

When I auction something 'big ticket' I try and check for questions at least once a day. And I will update the auction listing with any answers until E-bay locks it. But 15 questions for something stated in the listing, is frustrating as all get out.

I had an older F-150 for auction. I got the same question/comment from a bidder four times. 'Is it a 5 liter?'. Now the auction stated it was a 302. After answering 'A 302 is the same size motor as a 5.0 liter. But this particular truck is from before the switch to metric motor designation. So 302 is the correct motor size' The fool sent me a message 'Well, if you can't figure out what motor is in the truck, how is anyone else, *******'. This fool was the high bidder, I waited until 25 minutes before the auction end, and then blocked the bidder. Yea, I got a few dollars less. But, being a fool does bite you sometimes.
