So I thought this was the weekend. I got a quote online for a truck that had a MSRP for 46K and the quote was for 34K. That was 73.6% off, so I asked the salesperson if they could do they same on a truck that was on the lot that I actually wanted and he said "I dont see why not". Took the truck out this sticker was $49,255. It drove like a dream. Wife liked it got back to dealer to hopefully sign some papers and they came at me with a price of 42,500. Not only that, but they also offered me $3,500 less for my trade than they did two months prior. Oh, well it wasnt meant to be. What should I expect on a truck of $49,255? The sales manager was a real piece of work too, didnt even want to sell me the truck.
One word. Shop around and keep looking you'll pull the trigger soon. It took me 2 years to get the deal and truck I wanted. Check out signature for the one i did get..
$34K on a $46 sticker is a good price, but you should be able to match that elsewhere. That's a 26.1% reduction off the sticker, not 73.6%. Using the same percentage reductions, you should be able to buy the $49K truck at $36,400.
Look at Edmunds.com and find out what the invoice price is on that truck and don't offer more than $100 more than that (although I've been able to buy at less than invoice sometimes).
I might also suggest that you shop this week in that we are at the end of a month and sometimes dealers need to make their monthly numbers and will deal a little more.
I paid 1k under invoice for mine in my sig. I did have to go to NY to get it but it was worth it. I know how you feel the dealers around here where jerks.I found this deal on mine here on FTE .I know Jeff has left Ford and is selling at another dealer now but check around and you will find a good deal somewhere.
Go online to dave smith motors. He is a mega dealer in Idaho. Best price locally was beaten by $4,000 by this dealership. My brother had to drive from Az to ID but was well worth it. Also do not trade you vehicle in if at all possible you will loose no matter what! Either they will jack up price of new truck or lower the price of your trade in it is that simple!
Good luck
P.S. Are you sure you want a 6.0? if going gasser stick with ford if not you might want to fully research the 6.0
Oh yeah I tried to convince myself to get anything else, but as soon as I hop up in one of those trucks I just cant stop smiling. I even test drove an Audi, but there is nothing like these trucks.

I felt the same way! Nothing out there as far as trucks go can match Fords look and features like tow command and up fitter switches. But when it comes to that 6.0 I have had nothing but problems. After doing some research so are many other customers as well. I thought that by 05 ford would have the bugs worked out but that is just not the case. Some people on this site will tell you otherwise but, if this engine is so great then why are they changing it so soon? I can attest to about seven owner's of the 6.0 that have had some major concerns as well as of fleet of about forty that have had there problems as well.
many people, myself included can attest to many owners of PSD that do not have problems.
Sc_Power_Stroke, don't let the negative information deter you from getting a 6.0. Some of these comments you have to take with a grain of salt. There are many people that will tell you to never get married and have known many that had failed marriges but we still get married and many are great.
In the parking lot where I work there are lots and lots of PSD and no problems. I bought and '04 and loved it and just traded it in for an '06 not because I was having problems but because I went to the DRW.
Cut the best deal that you can and go for it.
contact 1956MarkII. He frequents the new ford / lincoln / merc threads on this forum. He works at Van Bortel Ford and he will gove you a hell of a deal with zero games, zero hassles.
The deals are still out there. It's Ford truck month here in TX - I got my Lariat for $37K. Sticker was $49K. In addition, they gave me Line-X and a portable DVD player.

Why? One word. Emissions. Not problems with the engine. Not warranty claims. Not any other reason but the EPA mandate that diesel engines burn ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. Nearly all car and truck manufacturers are scrambling with new engine designs to meet this mandate. International Truck and Engine calls the evolution of the 6.0 engine the new 6.4 engine that will appear in the 2008 model year.
