Even though there might be some truth to your post, Ford and Gm and Dodge new well in advance about any emissions requirements. Far enough in advance to impliment in the 6.0 design. Sorry but not buying it. The cost alone in developing a new motor is astronomical! To scrap it in four years is unheard of. Trust me there is more to this than just emissions. I have talked to many different people in the industry from mechanics to engineer's This has been a problematic engine from the beginning, and the cost to redesign has been determined to be more fiscally responsible than to continue to repair. Possible part of the problem is the fact that the egr is causing alot of problems with this motor. Since the egr is related to emissions that could be part of the connection. Have to wait and see.

Believe what you want to believe. Go to International Truck and Engine's website and see for yourself. All manufacturers have problems with some part of their product.

I agree rray, having some problems is a given. This engine design has had way way more then the normal problems. It has been stated the the reason why FMC did not just improve on the 7.3 was because of emmissions. So they designed a motor the 6.0 knowing full well that they would have to completely redesign in four years? That is what I am saying. Agree or disagree this design was flawed from the beginning plan and simple.
