ECT sensor replaced again?

Are you sure that the ECT is bad. What is leading you to this conclusion.
Are you getting a code?
Check wiring to sensor. Especially on older truck, the wiring and/or connectors can be the culprit.
Code are just a tool to head you in the right direction. Still requires some diagnosis.
Don't just throw parts at it.

ect sensor?
ok, the code shows error 51 which means ect sensor out of range, I now have to mash the gas pedal down to the floor to get the truck to start, then it runs rough and puffs black smoke, takes about 30 seconds and clears out...timing is ok, put in new plugs, air cleaner is ok? just stumped.
any help would be great.
