CHECK THE LIGHT BULB FIRST! Again, does the light come on when you first turn on the ignition? If it lights at all, it's not the bulb and it's something serious.
If it's burned out, the thing will beep.
It will also beep for "major malfunctions" but check the light bulb first!
in a more serious note, if you have a definate air bag problem, the dealer can hook up their scanner and tell you what the problem is. but make sure that the problem is active when you take it to them. if it is an intermitant problem, and it is not active, at the time when the hook up the scanner, they will not be able to find what is wrong. SRS systems do not store codes.
How can I check/replace the bulb because I can't find an airbag light anywhere so I'm guessing that the light is probably out. There isn't an airbag light that lights up with all the other idiots switches upon start-up and the light never comes on in the spot where you can switch the airbag off.

Look in the owner's manual, it should tell you where the airbag light is.
If you don't have an owner's manual, I can go look at mine, but I'm kinda busy right now I'll check it out later.
could it just be an airbag fuse ? airbag pressure fuse ? something simple like that i hope. I remember seeing a bunch of air bag fuses in my manual once.
On 2000 trucks, it's in the lower left of the dash, next to the seatbelt light. It's a little guy seatbelted in with a big circle in front of him (air bag). Probably the same symbol in newer trucks, possibly in a different location.
