There is a crack on my intake manifold from where the exhaust and intake bolt together. At this time the gasket is leaking between the two maniflods and the crack is showing up from the exhaust leak. I plan to take the manifolds off and repair the leak. Will the crack affect the performance and gas mileage.
I'm thinking of seeing if I can find one at a local wrecker, around here.
Should I leave it or replace it.. The manifold is not broken, just a inch and half crack showing.
the type material of your manifolds requires special type welding, hope that is available in your area. I tried many solutions such as JBweld, didnt work long (couple of days+bad smell). Welding is the cure, else a new or good used manif is your last choice.
My bad experience with both int&exh manif is the leak, mounting bolt alighnment plus carb mounting studs are extra distance apart. I changed both manif several times, they leaks or craks after a year or so.
I bought new int and exh manif from Autodirect 2 years ago. Now it leaked were they bolt together, and other head outlet, put new gaskets, mounting bolts are not alighed.
Mybe the manifolds are not manufactured at exact specifications (mine was made in China).

Got a replacement and putting it on this weekend. Will be watching out for the alignment issues. Thanks for you input of what happened to you. I will use caution.
I bought it at a local wrecker here. Cost about $24.00 for both intake and exhaust. Now as to P/N I'm dumb here as to what that means, sorry. Does this mean part number? I will have to get that later.
To buy a new intake manifold from the dealer would cost about $600.00. Mainly because they do not make them anymore.
For future reference, refurbished ones on eBay go for something like $170 every week. Incidentally, a set of refurbished EFI manifolds can be had for around $40 for the pair.
